Advice on answering the AO1 question about how the Falsification Principle can be used to challenge religious language:
* You can explain what the Falsification Principle is and how it differs from the Verification Principle * You can use Flew and the Parable of the Gardener * You can use Flew and the example of religious responses to The Problem of Evil In both these examples, Flew is showing that religion cannot be falsified and therefore it is meaningless. REMEMBER- You need to say HOW falsification is a challenge to the meaningfulness of religious language by referring to the above examples. Do not just talk in depth about the examples without linking them to the question- say how they show that religious language is meaningless according to the criteria of the Falsification Principle. |
